I love Greek mythology so much! I've actually been planning on exploring some of these themes for a while now, and this provided the perfect opportunity.
The myth of Medusa is such an interesting story to me, partially because it varies so much based on who is telling it. It is sometimes a parable of vanity, sometimes a story of tragedy. Sometimes the fault is with the gods, and sometimes it is merely. I chose to interpret the myth as a tragic story in which the mortal Medusa is punished for the folly of a god.
I imagine that for years, Medusa wandered far from her home contemplating her existence. In this time, I imagine that she had remarkably little conversation and created a good deal of fine sculpture
