Beyond the Clearing

An old experiment of mine using a technique in which a base coat of black paint is applied before any detail in order to emphasize shadow and contrasts. The style of this piece was inspired largely by that of Bob Ross.
I don't do much acrylic painting anymore, but I would like to explore this technique further, because I really do like how the piece turned out as a whole.
